I have two book chapters on industrial heritage and identity coming soon!  This chapters detail aspects of research I have been conducting on industrial heritage, identity, community, and change in Puerto Rico and Yucatan, Mexico.

The first chapter is titled “Corporate Hegemony, Working-Class Identity, and Community Negotiation in the (Post-)Industrial Sugar Landscape of Central Aguirre, Puerto Rico” will be published in the volume Reanimating Industrial Spaces (Hillary Orange, editor) by Left Coast Press this November.

The second chapter is titled “Las Cadenas que más nos Encadenan son las Cadenas que Hemos Roto: TheYucatecan Hacienda, Capitalist Mentalities, and the Production of Space and Identity”  will be published in  Historical Archaeologies of Capitalism, second edition (Mark Leone and Jocelyn Knauf, editors) by Springer, with an expected publication date of spring 2015.

Many of you are already familiar with the first edition of Historical Archaeologies of Capitalism, a classic in the field of Historical Archaeology.  I am very proud to be part of the updated and expanded second edition of this important book.
